Both the old and young may develop receding gums
Receding gums is a normal part of the aging process when the gums start to sag and lose its hold on the teeth. During this stage, the bone structure that supports the teeth collapses and the teeth fall off. While this is a normal occurrence for old people, it is not a confined case. Kids, teens and young adults may experience this also and may be caused by several factors.
What are the reasons that may cause receding gums? The most common reason cited for developing receding gums is gum disease which in turn is caused by bacterial growth. Eating healthy and drinking plenty of water may also help in bringing back the gum to its healthy state.
